RULES FOR PARTICIPATION

The festival may be attended by work in three categories: design idea, design concept and design object. The only requirement for the format of the submission of work: a clear indication of the problem, its understanding and solution. Works are accepted as a general idea (presentation, essay), or as a detailed concept (render, video, description), or as a real object (photo, video, description).

MANIFESTO

Globalization has led to the viral spread of many phenomena: real and virtual viruses that threaten the quality of life. How to save yourself, friends and relatives? We ask designers to turn on the brain in order to come up with how to make the world a better, cleaner and more comfortable place. How to help improve health, how to become more educated, energetic, successful, improve the quality of life and the environment? What to change in our homes and what will help our cities?

DESIGN NOW! invites designers to formulate a problem, comprehend it and give a solution: either as a general idea, or as a detailed concept, or as a real object.

Contact economists, physicians, technologists and professionals from other industries — self-isolation is not welcome, on the contrary — any productive forms of interdisciplinary contacts.

We ask you to send your ideas along with sketches and podcasts. After all, the most interesting thing in design work is the design process itself. We are pleased to publish evidence of your work in any form — from a sketch in a notebook to a video series or an audio story.

DESIGN NOW! will be held by analogy with RUSSIAN PROJECT 2020, which covers only implemented projects of the current year. The match will be followed by an online vote. The best ideas will be shortlisted and presented to the international jury.

OPINIONS

"I THINK THAT WE SHOULD BE AT AN EXTENT GRATITUDE: CORONAVIRUS IS NOT SO HORRIBLE AS THE SPANISH INFLUENZA OF THE 1918-1920S OR THE MIDDLE AGES OF BUBBLE PLAGUE. PROBABLY, THIS PROBLEM WILL EXIST AT ALL TIMES — AND ANY MORE QUESTION WILL THERE BE ANY MORE THAN SERIOUS VARIETY WITH TIME. THE CURRENT PROBLEM IS NOT SO MUCH IN THE VIRUS, BUT IN A HUGE AND IRREVERSABLE GLOBALIZATION, "— PIET HEIN EEK, DUTCH DESIGNER AND ENTREPRENEUR.

«THE CURRENT VIRUS COVID-19, AT ALL SCENARIOS OF DEVELOPMENT, SHOULD SHOW FIRST IMPORTANCE OF JOINT ACTIVITY», — SEBASTIAN HERKNER, GERMAN DESIGNER.

«I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT DESIGN IS ONE OF OUR MOST POWERFUL INSTRUMENTS FOR SOLVING GLOBAL PROBLEMS (OF COURSE, IN COOPERATION WITH OTHER DISCIPLINES), VERY MUCHLY VERY DIFFERENTLY DIFFERENTLY. », — ALICERAWSTHORN, BRITISH DESIGN-CRITIC.
